Social App
for Educational Organization
March 2023 - February 2024
Students aren't aware about events organized by the ogranization
Students having less opportunities to socialize
Lack of convinient channel of communication
Solution
Building an app that answers the needs
Creating an app would effectively address the issues mentioned above. Students could meet their peers and would gain quick and convenient access to events organized by existing student groups, while also receiving a platform where they could initiate and manage their own activities.
Events listed in the organization’s official app would appear significantly more credible. Having a space where users can check the latest updates or receive real-time notifications from the organization would streamline communication between both sides, resulting in clear organizational benefits.
Safe and moderated space to take a part and organize activities

Most important info right away at the screen
Easy access to the latest updates from the organization, including notifications about the school year’s progress, was considered a crucial feature. Displaying these updates directly on the dashboard would make them more accessible, while a dedicated notification panel would enable fast communication with students - something especially important in urgent or unexpected situations.

Personalization
Available tools of personalization are allowing users to create more authentic picture of them in community. This approach fosters a sense of security, authenticity, and trust, all while allowing users full control over their presence in the application.
Additionally, it supports the dynamic development of both online and offline interactions, which is crucial for the main goal of the app.
An answer to pressing issue
We identified a significant risk: users might not be sure whether the person messaging them on an external platform is actually a member of the community. To ensure transparency and enhance user safety, we introduced a "Say Hi" feature.
Dialog screen clarifies consequences of the action which raises transparency and lowers the risk of sending an accidental greeting, reducing the chance of user error. Simple visual representation allows to focus at the personal aspect of it.

Easy access to essential data
The clear visual structure indicates priority and directs the user's focus. Most essential data for the user to decide if the activity or the event is worth the interest are constantly in sight. Social context adds additional perspective and creates more engagment.
Freedom of exploration through the map
Map as a well known method of presenting spatial data gives an intuitive understanding of the location of students and events in a geographical context makes it easier to connect with others and plan event participation.

Designed to make the choice easy
Full attention was given to providing the user with key information necessary to make a decision about joining the event. The most important details are always accessible, ensuring the user doesn't lose context. Easy access to action buttons allows users to join the event or save it to their favorites at any moment.
Social features add an extra community-driven aspect, encouraging participation alongside peers. Including a comments section enables public discussion about the event
